Recent Installation – Double Glazing Windows in Newcastle upon Tyne

Wednesday, February 15th, 2012

The most recent double glazing installation added to the Ramsdale portfolio takes us to Newcastle upon Tyne, whereby our double glazing experts transformed the exterior of a lifeless looking property into a fresh and contemporary home.

With the entranceway, the customer opted for their very own bespoke design, which incorporated a white UPVC door with an arched glass design and two side panels, one for either side of the door. Each panel was separated by a horizontal bar, with double glazed units installed above and below the bar.

As requested by the customer, the flat windows installed downstairs were fitted in four parts, with four top openers (dummy sash bottoms). The upstairs windows consisted of a four section and three section design which were also fitted with side openers.

All the double glazing windows on this particular house are A-rated, energy efficient windows. The argon filled units provide the windows with heat retaining capabilities, freeing this customer from the expensive heating bills that the previous draughty windows could not afford.

With the double glazing installation completely project managed by the double glazers at Ramsdale, we managed to complete the job once again, within timescale and budget. The customer came to us with a concept that was distinctively unique for this particular area and we were able to complete it.

Triple Glazing – proving a hit with UK homeowners

Friday, February 3rd, 2012

Widely used in colder climates, such as Sweden and Norway, triple glazing was originally designed to contend with the harshest of Scandinavian winters.  With the current UK government moving towards zero carbon homes by 2016, triple glazing is now sailing its popularity across the North Sea into North East homes.

Within the last 12 months, there has been a significant leap in the volume of orders for triple glazing installations in the UK.  Here at Ramsdale we have also experienced a growing number of customers requesting treble glazing, as opposed to the once seemingly untouchable double glazed units.  Whether this increase is solely down to the government’s initiative, time will tell, however we feel it’s attributed to the belief that triple glazing windows are the ultimate in performance glazing, and is definitely an informed choice with the future in mind.

Whilst double glazing windows are still a perfectly adequate substitute, triple glazed windows go above and beyond what is considered “adequate”.  The extra pane of glass that comes with treble glazing can not only increase the value of the property but also enhances the unit’s thermal capacity, which means heat retention is at all time high and utility bills kept at an all time low.

Although saving money on energy bills is a key feature, our substantial experience as Triple glazing installers in Middlesbrough, indicates to us that the most noticeable difference is in fact the level of comfort that the windows provide.  The comfort referred to is one of (a) temperature control, which allows the home to retain heat in the winter, whilst keeping the area cool during the summer and (b) noise control, with the third pain providing significant reductions in noise pollution.

Triple glazing right now may seem like a lifestyle choice, however with upcoming government initiatives and the general improvement of everyday life, why wait till 2016 to live the standard of life that triple glazing can bring you today?
